Last Saturday we traveled to Lovelock Nevada for the season opener at Lovelock Speedway. Springtime in Nevada can be a bit of a rollercoaster when it comes to the weather, but Saturday warmed up to close to 70 degrees by late afternoon before cooling back down to about 36 degrees. Lovelock Speedway is a ¼ mile dirt track located on the outskirts of Lovelock Nevada, and while this track has been around for awhile this was my first time racing it. The track was shut down for a few years, but they did have a couple of races last season. I unfortunately could not make those race dates due to previous commitments.
Starting 5th in the heat I was able to move up and finish 3rd. After making some adjustments to the car I started 2nd in the main and stayed there to finish 2nd on the night. Overall, it was a good night and I look forward to racing here again. While I did not have a chance to make it to the stands there looked to be a good number of people there to watch the race.
This next weekend will be taking us to yet another new track. We will be heading out to Susanville California to race at Diamond Mountain Speedway. While we did get some snow this week, it has mostly cleared out and should be clear for our travels. You can find updates during the week and during the race by following my Facebook page-Marie Curtis Racing. We try to keep it updated during every race.
Once again, I would like to take a moment to thank all my family, friends, fans, and sponsors. Without their support this would not be possible.
